Benefits of Pushing Yourself Out Of Your Comfort Zone

You’ve all heard of the comfort zone, but lets define it. “A behavioral space where your activities and behaviors fit a routine and pattern that minimizes stress and risk.”comfortzone

In English, it’s a place where familiarity, security and certainty exists. If any of those three parts are missing that puts you outside your comfort zone – a place where many are not willing to go.

Staying in your comfort zone rarely does it provide opportunities to grow, expand or reap any sort of substantial reward, if you always stay in your own little safe place.

To get ahead in today’s world, you must take chances and risks by stepping into unfamiliar territory. It like the old saying “If you keep doing the same things you have always done, you’ll keep getting the same results.”

If aren’t happy with the results you are getting you gotta take a look at your actions.

I know we are a fitness company, but this example is too good not to use. Most of the millionaires and billionaires that made their money (not inherited it) have been rich and poor several times, because they were willing to risk their fortunes, even if it meant going broke, to grow and expand to new heights.

In the end, they succeeded even though the road was rocky at times. Now for you that might mean, increasing the number of days you workouts, upping the intensity of your workouts, choosing different foods and/or checking in regularly. All of these may make you feel uncomfortable, but I ask do you want results more than you want comfort?

Sometimes it is not what you get in the end, but the thrill of getting there; not the destination, but the journey. If you want to keep growing and expanding both personally and professionally, you must get out of your comfort zone.

And what happens to your comfort zone if you do? It expands; what was unfamiliar territory is now part of your expanded comfort zone and you can step outside again and reach even higher.

Success is yours for the taking. Go out and grab it!
